Crime Writing Masterclass
Will host
Donna Leon

The Crime Writing Masterclass, created by the Jan Michalski Foundation together with Le Temps, proposes four sessions a year introducing the best international thriller and crime writers.

How do they investigate? How do they write? What are their sources?

In the course of an afternoon, masters of crime writing will look behind their creative process and introduce a film that inspired them.

Donna Leon, author of the famous Venetian investigations of Commissario Brunetti, will be the guest of this first Crime Writing Masterclass.

Born in New Jersey in 1942, Donna Leon has been living in Venice for more than forty years. A passionate admirer of baroque music, she taught English literature before creating Guido Brunetti, a Venetian detective who is the star of a long series of police mysteries which explore the darkest secrets of the Serenissima. Translated into twenty-five languages, Donna Leon’s crime stories have entertained millions of readers around the world.

The event will be in English, hosted by Lisbeth Koutchoumoff Arman, journalist of Le Temps
