Le langage est l’un des trois cœurs de l’œuvre de Markus Raetz (1941–2020). Son art ne cesse d’appréhender les mots, d’en explorer les relations croisées au sein de plusieurs parlers et de s’incarner dans l’univers de formes visuelles parlantes.
Au gré de sculptures, dessins, estampes et carnets, l’exposition éclaire l’une des parts motrices de la création chez Markus Raetz.
An ideal space for reading and working, the Jan Michalski Foundation library opened in 2014 and offers a vast panorama of modern and contemporary literature. The aim of its multilingual and multicultural collections is to reflect all fields of literary creation and learning.

The Jan Michalski Prize for Literature 2021 has been awarded to Memorial International, Alena Kozlova, Nikolai Mikhailov, Irina Ostrovskaya and Irina Scherbakova for the collective work Знак не сотрется. Судьбы остарбайтеров в письмах, воспоминаниях и устных рассказах (Мемориа́л, 2016), translated from the Russian by Georgia Thomson under the title OST: Letters, Memoirs and Stories from Ostarbeiter in Nazi Germany (Granta, 2021).
